Venice of the North recording studio opened its doors in January 2018. The studio itself is located in the Maryhill Burgh halls, a historical building located in the heart of Maryhill.

Why Venice of the North? Back in the 1800’s Maryhill was known as “Venice of the North” due to the canal system located there. Additionally, it was also the epicentre of Glasgow’s glassworks, drawing another parallel with Venice. The Murano Road area in Maryhill takes its name from Venice’s famed Murano Glassworks.

Venice of the North Studio offers high-quality recording experience using a mixture of analogue/vintage equipment and modern/digital recording techniques.
